The village
Where chalets met the Smokies
In the mid-1960s, developers carved mountain estates out of a high plateau overlooking Happy Valley. Homes that followed often took the chalet and A-frame language of that era — steep roofs, wood siding, porches aimed at the view. Chalet Village grew as one of those named pockets of cabin living.
It is not a city. There is no post office on the ridge. School buses ride the Foothills Parkway toward Walland. Black bears share the woods. Neighbors know the roads, the weather, and the lake rules better than any brochure.

A ~52-acre mountain lake formed on Flat Creek. Quiet water — electric motors and human-powered craft, not a public speed-boat park.

Before you go looking
Same name, different mountain
There is a well-known “Chalet Village” above Gatlinburg. This is not that place. Ours is the Blount County village on Chilhowee — Tallassee ZIP, lake country, Foothills Parkway access.
